If you post the size that you are looking at it would be easier to decide. I notice you have a 29 ft TT now, if you like SP's NP's smaller more remote GC's I would buy a 30-34 ft Gas MH for the usage you describe. If you want to go bigger, 36 ft or more just because you want more room, then I would look at a used diesel even though you drive 5000 miles a year or less. Another thing to consider is what you want to tow. If you want to tow your DD that gets good gas mileage(35 -40 mpg hiway), most of those weigh under 3000 lbs. Most gas MH's can tow up to 5000 lbs any way. I don't know how many DP folks would recommend a 30 ft DP over a 30 ft gas MH.
