Our first Class A was a 99 National Seabreeze. Non-slide. Very well constructed and full steel frame, however even though it was a one owner rig, we spent thousands on breakdown repairs, mainly the rear end and other bearing issues.
The moral is whether you buy newer or used you will MOST ALWAYS experience breakdowns/repairs/mechanics. It is a house running down the road.
Our new to us 2011 Georgetown just had the converter fail, causing a new one to being installed...so it seems to be always something! Just budget for the unexpected and you should be fine. Have fun....lots of great non-slide rigs in your price range. We found our latest on RV Trader, and flew to go see it.
