There are good deals out there. Just need to keep your eyes open. I picked up a 2004 Sunseeker 2900 class C for $11k last year. 66k miles, outside was a little faded, some cosmetic damage, interior was worn, but everything worked. After new tires, an alignment, new serpentine belt and tensioner pulley's, it has a clean bill of health mechanically. I paid someone to do all that work, plus install a heavier hitch and brake controller, and now have about $15k into it total.
My wife and I have plans to redo the front half of the interior at some point, but in the meantime it's perfectly serviceable. We've already taken it on half a dozen weekend trips, and have a 10 day trip out west planned over the 4th of July.
