- Dusty_RExplorerWe run our refrigerator while driving. I've run a cord with switch up to the drivers seat so I can turn it off before pulling up to the gas pumps. Hards part is to remember to turn it back on after leaving.
Dusty - DaCremaExplorerNo propane in any of the Baltimore tunnels, you have to go around.
In Virginia around Norfolk and Hampton Roads you just have to turn off the propane to go through the tunnels. Va DOT asks that you stop at the check stations before going through the tunnels. (Or so I was told when I called). - ken07734ExplorerI called ahead to the fort Mchenry tunnel and was told a big fat NO to using that tunnel with my TT. The 20 lb tanks and the height are out of spec. Looks like I will be using the bridge and ading an hour to my trip.
- wbwoodExplorerChesapeak (sp?) Bay Bridge has (or had at one time) signs that said to turn off your propane. But we are talking about a tunnel that goes for miles. Not a short 100-200' tunnel.
- Golden_HVACExplorerI have never been in a tunnel that said no propane on inside it. There are many tunnels that will not allow a propane delivery truck through them.
I have driven all over the country with my refrigerator on propane. No problems so far. And the newer RV's have a propane leak detector, so you can shut off the propane by switching off the propane leak detector.
I have even run my furnace and water heater while driving.

I've avoided those so far by staying off the big roads. Not everyone is so lucky. - BordercollieExplorerSome tunnels have signs requiring shut off of propane in the tunnel
- EycomExplorerThe only time my fridge is turned off is during defrosting and fueling up at the diesel pumps. So far, so good!
- sask66ExplorerI think it's ok, but as said before, be careful when fueling. Probably a good idea to shut off propane if and when fueling up the gas tank.
- Crazy_RayExplorerIt's OK
