using shark bites on pluming

Why not use the less expensive plastic ones. Check out the video at around 1 minute.

Great stuff for home or RV. I bought the plastic version at CW but the more expensive brass stuff will work too.

SharkBite, Watts, Sea Tech, and Tectite are all similar "no tools" push-on connectors for CTS piping. All work well, especially in tight spots where more conventional fittings are difficult to use. They're costly, but for occasional small modifications or repairs, they're very handy. I always keep a few fittings in my RV spares.

I have used something that works similar on plumbing repairs sold by Menards. Except no special tools are required to remove the fitting, just press "in" on the white nylon collars, that snap "out" when the tubing is pushed into the fitting. The first ones I used were transitions from PVC to PEX on laundry service connection repairs at one of our duplexes. I have used several times since without any problems to date.

I've had SharkBites and Pex in my S&B for 10 years. I used them on the hot water heating system and the fresh water system.
Absolutely no problems.

And, I've had a couple in our Southwind for a couple years. Again, no problems.

I've never tried the similar brands.

I love Shark-Bites and PEX: I've used them for several years now with NO problems. I like the fact that you can disconnect them if you've made a mistake and are planning the layout before final setup.

They may be a bit expensive but how many do you really need?

I have used something similar. Just another brand I guess. I was somewhat unsure of how well they would work. Needless to say they work great. I have used them in home plumbing as well.

Shark bite connectors but rather expensive and one should use their tool to camphor the pipe end before inserting the pipe into the fitting. Also, as mentioned you will need a removal to remove the connector.

Another good connector is called flair -It and offers a good connector product line at reasonable prices. These connectors require no special tools to install or remove. you can find these connectors at most RV parts departments.

There are other systems but are usually used in high production work

Re-plumbed my water pump last year as I didn't like where it was located. Used shark bites. No leaks, no problems. Easy to use..Lowes also has a similar item. They call them Gorilla snacks or something like that...:).Dennis
