Utility Light (engine bay) circuit fuse hidden?
2000 Fleetwood Discovery model 36T DP with 2 slides. Purchased used from a private party in March. 102,000 miles but in excellent condition in and out.
Last night I replaced every light in the "Luggage Compartments" with LED bulbs and checked their operation. THOSE have power switches on them and you must have the "Luggage" switch on that is found on the panel that is just inside the door which also controls the power step, passenger side porch, and interior first three lights. On our 2000 36T the light fixtures I can't get to light up are the size of clearance lights and have clear lenses with no power switch. Only the Gray/Black tank service bay has a fixture the same as the interior and luggage bay lights with a switch on it.
According to the owner's manual the generator bay, driver and passenger sides of engine, rear/aft of engine, battery bay, inverter bay, and the driver's side porch light are supposed to turn on with the "Utility Light" switch on the driver's side console which also powers the switchable light fixture in the Gray/Black tank service bay. But I have no power to any of those light fixtures or to the Utility Light switch itself. I've tried it with all of the previously mentioned lights switches on, with ACC on, with IGN on, with inverter, coach, chassis, radio switches on.
I checked the coach fuse block above and inboard of the accelerator pedal. There are 6 fuses that are all good. There are three slots on the inboard row that are empty but had no power to them.
I checked the Freightliner fuse block above the brake pedal. All fuses are there per the label inside the box cover and good.
I checked the coach power box below the refrigerator. All checked good and nothing labeled for outside or bay lights.
I checked a fuse block I found in the Inverter bay. All are good.
The only thing I can think of that I did not do last night was to pull the cover off the Battery Control Center (BCC) since that requires disconnecting all the batteries. But surely a service light circuit wouldn't be buried in that box would it?
I looked for switches and/or fuse holders in each of the bays the Utility Light circuit is supposed to light. Nothing.
I've sent an email to the gal at Fleetwood that sent me the schematics back in March when we bought the coach from a private party and registered it with Fleetwood. I've advised her that the schematics I received were evidently preliminary design because they did not appear to be the "as built" drawings for our 36T
PLEASE - ANYONE! This is driving me batty and I have got to believe it is something simple like a blown fuse I'm missing or some switch that provides master power to that Utility Light switch. The other side console circuits work (fan, fog lights, engine braking, power mirrors, mirror heater, leveler).
Anyone with a 2000 Discovery? Especially if you have a 36T?
