Value of a 1976 26 GMC motorhome. Restored.

Hello. Trying to help out a friend. This is a totally restored and and modernized motorhome. Everything from Satellite dish to Flat screens, all new appliances etc. all new tires. 136000 ish miles on original motor. (455 CI) My concern would be seals, carburetor, hoses etc etc. Obviously NADA would not be useful here. I would be interested to hear from others on what the value of something like this would be as well as maintenance concerns, liveability for trips of a couple months etc. Its kinda cool looking especially for the vintage enthusiast. I know nothing about these machines but I'm sure others out there do. We will have a chance to see the inside in the next few days.

On edit. This is the 26 foot 455CI front wheel drive all fiberglass motorhome that GMC built from 1973 to 1978

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Yes pics Thank you.
  • As with all things it is worth what some one will pay for it. Our 57 Thunderbird is insured for 60k and on the open market we might 40k. At auction depending on the crowd we maybe could get more. My best guess is no more than 40K. That is a no picture, no inspection, SWAG.

  • Tops would be around 30k if it were almost perfect, but buyers are not too plentiful. They are considered collectable as are old airstreams. They had an Oldsmobile engine in them and exceptional rides.....Dennis
  • Oh they are considered collectable, very large dedicated groups including people/companies manufacturing new parts for them. Prices can go as high as 50-60K for exceptional ones and to the right buyer.
  • I am guessing that the number will be dramatically less than the owner was hoping to hear. The reality is that unless the vehicle is considered a collectors item, an old vehicle is just old. You have to find a specialty buyer to make it an investment and there are enough GMC's out there that this unit would not be considered rare or special.
