I really hate to see it but it will get worse.
I would stake out the generator and MH, if they haven't already cruised around and found you discovered it. A shot out engine or differential and a couple, of tires and they will still be there when you can get the cops to come. Personally I would't trouble the cops. They're overworked. :)
