Don't bother with local law enforcement other than to get a report of the crime for insurance purposes. Considering it's a property crime and the priority to find the criminals won't be high on the list of things to do. There isn't much you can do to prevent stuff like this. Keep the insurance active and maybe find yourself a Trunk Monkey.
