In my family it was an honor to serve in the military. It was our small way to repay the sacrifices made by those veterans before us. I served in the US Navy, my Son retired five years ago after 25 years in the US Navy. Our Granddaughter is married to a career US Navy man.
I heard on the news this morning that of today's youth, only 30% are physically and mentally eligible to serve in the military. The other 70% are either too obese, lack an education, or have a criminal record. Sad
