Walmart

We are traveling I-77 south from Cleveland to Savannah, Ga. next week. Looking for a good Walmart stop, safe, and plenty of space somewhere into North Carolina before Charlotte. Anyone who has stopped at a good one let us know.

Thanks.

I have done that before . To much kamakazi traffic across the parking lot and noise at night for me. I go find someplace quiet and secure.

Sorry to be a little off topic, but what are the rules to stopping in a Walmart or Kmart parking lot? Can one stop at any? Being new to the RV world I just started to hear about this.

Many Walmart's allow over-nite parking (short term, on the out-skirts of their lots). Best to always check with management at the store, if they are available.

Some City ordinance, do not allow it, lots will have signs (No over-nite parking) at times!

Many RV'ers will debate it (for and against) the use of a Walmart to stop over.

Rules --use your common sense (short stops, don't setup camp, don't liter, utilize/support the store if supplies needed, etc....)

    ((SOME LOCATIONS))
Walmarts, Cracker Barrels, Cabellas and Camping World Locations, are frequent off the highway retailers that support over-nite parking.

PS: Truckers many times are also present.

  • Just did a trip recently, with two WM overnight stops:

    Mooresville, NC

and Elkin, NC BIG lot, several RV's and Truckers there, but well spaced out.
