If one's draw bar has side-to-side play in the receiver there is no reason that I know of that would prevent one from rotating the Quiet Hitch 90 degrees. It is my guess that it can be installed to prevent vertical or horizontal wobble - depending upon the application. Either way, it's purpose is to take excess play out of the draw bar.
You may likely prefer something more like the
Roadmaster Quiet Hitch 049. It's no longer on Roadmaster's website that I can tell. It might be discontinued.
