I wish the dealer would give the deposit back. I understand, the OP's point of veiw.
Dealer has a point of view though also. They have upheld their end of the contract.
It is not the dealers fault the wife may lose her job. If indeed they did pay they rig off, then they have a big cash outlay, and a buyer that is trying to back out.
Reason, they maybe a little hard to deal with.
I believe it would really be a good faith gesture for them to return the deposit.
But they may not have too.
The law is the law. We often complain about a dealer, but as I said above they also have a point of view.
10k is a lot of money. I hope a compromise can be reached, so both parties are happy
