We have purchased two rvs and both we signed papers on the amounts we agreed on first. (purchase price, tradein price, down payment, doc fees, etc.) All the financial stuff and down payment money traded hands AFTER we did PDI and we were satisfied with the unit. I would have not given them down payment yet or atleast not that large of one. I say cancel the check if its not to late. Certainly I would show up at the dealer and ask for the owner or the highest person in charge at the moment and try to work it out. This all sounds odd to me. I wouldnt be offering the dealer 5k to help out, thats crazy. And as everyone else has said the dealer paying off the rv as soon as you leave is complete nonsense. There just trying to pressure you into the sale so they make money. If things dont work out for you i would certainly put them on blast all over the net and anyone else that would run the story.
