I chose gas because I'm not (yet) retired and do not drive enough to justify the cost of a diesel. Were I retired and full timing, then I would have likely gone for a diesel instead.
That being said, depending on how I plan to travel after retirement, I may well stick with a gasser. I'm loving mine and I go out to the driveway every evening after work and talk to it nicely and give it a hug. The dog is very jealous.
