as to the fuel pump replacement, go to one of the bigger hot rod shops like Dons, or ask one of the better shops which one. I used them on several older vehicles in years past just need to wire into the ignition system. Dont recall the name brands so you will need to do some research. They used Bosch ones on the UAV's that the army flew and no these were not in the tank ones, may also need to put a restricter in the line thats why you will need to talk to the shops.
If the water leaked past the covers and the wood is messed up as it looks to be, you will need to look at all the nearby wood to ensure that it is solid and not rotted. Remember the water will get to all areas it will not satay in one place. had a TT, looked fine but the water damage got into the frame from leaks from clearance lights and around window mouldings,
