There is a fix for the resistor issue. I have intermittant issues with no spark, bad resistor, etc. I ended up doing a mod and replaced the mopar ignition module with a GM. It has completely resolved those issues and I no longer have to carry spare resistors. Best mod I've done. I now get a full spark all the time.
