Wash.DC in a 25' Class'A'?

Hi all. We have the Thor Vegas 24.1. Even tho its only 25 feet long & built on the Ford E-350 van chassis its still considered to be a Class'A'. Question, can I visit Washington Dc and drive it around all/most of the sites? Its also only 11 feet tall.:h

  • I used to take my 24 foot into the city but I worked there and knew where to park. Now with all the extra security you might have a problem but if you park up far enough and walk down you can take it in. As for driving around the momuments that is not a good way to see the place in any event. You could drive it out to the annex of the air and space though.
  • I wouldn't do it. Parking will be impossible.

I left my Excursion and borrowed a car last year because no garages could assure me of a space over 7ft high.

Tight areas, lots of parking and fees everywhere.

Better would be to take your RV to one of the outer Metro stops and spend your "gas money" on the Metro. You'll get to more places with less hassle (most of the time) and not have the stress of commuting in a strange and un-traffic-friendly city.

Anything can be done, but I wouldn't consider it leisurely.

Of course, I understand an RV. Hotels are $$$$
