Washer/Dryer running while travelling??

I just did drying last time out - seemed to work fine but I have to run the gen. I was just warned on another forum about trying to wash on the road. The drum gets heavy with water and can't take the trauma of being bounced up and down by road shock. Made sense to me so I don't think I will try.
