Take a look at the whole report. Lots of good stuff in here that would be good to see come to fruitÃon. State Parks have been starved for funding for years. The money has to come from somewhere. Personally, I will gladly pay it on my upcoming motorhome purchase, if it's enacted by then.
I already pay a rapid transit excise tax on my motorhome that started at $900 per year. That tax alone is unfair in that it taxes every vehicle in your family (I have 3) for a benefit limited to just a few. So, I'm not exactly excited about another tax.
Everyone uses our parks, not just RV's. I'm not sure yet just why the current Discover Pass isn't generating the needed offset, but there's a lot of seemingly accurate accusations of fund mismanagement that should be addressed prior to hitting us with an added tax.
Just my 2 cents :)

I believe a user fee for many purposes, is exactly the way to go. It is not everyone's responsibi;ity to fund others use, if they do not use a facility. It can be a progressive use fee, such as number of people in a car, size fees for larger vehicles. Before anyone targets me, know that we do use state parks and would pay a fee for use. Maybe the answer is also a VERY small tax to the WA citizens with a targeted use fee.
