We might not have an income tax, but we are taxed to the hilt on everything else. I was shocked when we moved here in 1992 that labor was taxed. RV owners are a very small percent of the users of the State Parks here. There are far more tenters in those parks than anything else. Most parks won't accommodate anything but very small RV's. When we go camping with the kids in a State Park, we tent it. I do not mind paying more for when I use the park, but I do not want to be charged an arbitrary fee just because I own a RV. I believe that those that use the parks should pay for them. If that means raising the rates then that is what should be done. The problem that Washington has is that it says it is raising taxes on gas to pay for roads, but the money never makes it to the roads. Same thing would happen with an increase in a tax for the Parks. The State Government would find a need for that money somewhere else and the parks would not get the money. There is NEVER a guarantee that the money truly goes where it is said to be going.
