Just to be clear about WHERE the State of Washington is spending our money- or at least where it isn't...
The Seattle tunnel project is not funded by Statewide taxpayers except those who may in future actually pass through and have to pay the toll. At least that's the revenue source identified in docs related to WSDOT's end of the project. I guess they might be said to be "lending" the money, but it has to be repaid by actual users. Assuming they EVER finish what I've always considered to be a ludicrous project.
