surprised this hasn't been closed yet.....
The sensible thing of course is to fund all use of public lands by fee's collected from those who use them.
Irritating, yes. Fair and logical? yup that too.
We stayed at a state park in Nebraska. Made and paid for camping reservations online.
When we got there, we had to drive through a gate at the park entry, and pay a usage fee. we said "we all ready paid for our campsite!" and they said, well you have to pay this too. I was most unhappy at the time, the extra fee brought the site cost very near local full hookup campgrounds...
It only makes sense though, that those who use state services should actually pay for them.
