Water drip from AC return

Turned out to be partially plugged drain holes.

The fix was to drill the holes out so they won't plug again.

If you just had it serviced then bring the rig back to the outfit that provided the service and explain the problem. Drips are common and usually easy to fix - maybe the service provided did a lousy job - it happens.

I agree with this assessment. We had the same issue.

If it were frozen up it would not be cooling, would it? I have seen no evidence of icing. I still cools the same when the water is dripping from the return.

Just made the drive home & it dripped again on the road, although maybe not as much as before.

It was hot weather driving 4 hrs across FL in 95 degree weather, but it leaked on the trip over last Friday when it was mid 80's.

I wonder whether I should consider replacing it rather than chasing the problem. It has never been adequate to cool the coach in hot weather (best it could do today in 95 degree weather was low 80's). But it is a 14,800 BTU Dometic & I'm not sure I could get a replacement much, if any, bigger. It is only 2&1/2 yrs old but it has been used continuously since we leave it on when parked at home set to 78 or 80 & set it at 76 when we're on the road.

I just had it serviced by the dealer a few months ago & I just changed the filter a week ago. Drain holes are not plugged up - there is plenty of water coming off the roof as usual. I tightened the two front bolts & it started dripping even though the coach is stationary so I backed off them a bit to make sure they are not over-tightened & tightened the rear ones a bit. It is no longer dripping inside but I won't know about when moving until we get on the road again tomorrow.

Clean out the drain holes and clean the filter. While you at it might as well clean both the condenser and evaporator coils to round out the AC maintenance.

If it is leaking INSIDE the coach, which, from your description is where it is...then your filter is dirty and needs cleaning..clean the filter, run the A/C on FAN ONLY for 30 minutes to melt the ice buildup on the fins..reassemble...all will be good again..until the filter gets dirty. They should be cleaned annually, semi annually if you're in dusty conditions.....Dennis
