The cheapest water heaters use LPG with a "standing pilot" like many home water heaters. The better ones are DSI (direct spark ignition) where all you have to do is flip a switch inside the coach and it lights itself. That sounds like that MB does above ^^^ and it's what we do when campground power is scarce. Out Suburban offers Electric too, but sometimes we have to conserve power and use a little LPG.
MB's method above is very efficient.
