Water heater vs tankless water heater in 2000 Adventurer

We have a Year 2000, Model 2000 WFG37G, Series Name: Winnebago Adventurer the hot water tank needs to be replaced.

Has anyone put in a tankless water heater instead??

Anyone have any thoughts, experience or words of advice about going this route?

  • Last year I had the privilege of visiting with 2 owners of new rigs with Atwood tank less water heaters. Both water heaters failed to ignite from the day of delivery. Both had been to service centers with no answer to the problem, even with Atwood's guidance.

  • I have installed tankless water heaters... My opinion is that in an RV it's negligent. The tanks are so small in most coaches it's not like it is a major resource issue. The nice thing however is that there is no tank so a little more room... The other nice thing is hot water runs longer (if you want that in an RV).
