I would think the water might be coming from somewhere other than around the engine cover and just finding a low spot in that area. You may have a leak around a clearance light or maybe around the wind shield.
I had a slideout seal leaking that would make its way under the brake and gas pedal area with my front end being a little lower when parked on my pad. You might try elevating the front of the coach to see if it puddles somewhere else. With the coach level it might help pinpoint the leak area better.
