when on city water the water pump is not in play and will not leak water into the fresh water tank no way
The water pump, although not running, can be the issue due to the fact that the output side of the pump is seeing full shore water pressure. If the check valve fails then that pressure can force water back through the pump and back into the fresh water holding tank.
