Water leaks

1500 miles into our 7500 mile cross country trip we experienced a water leak. We contacted Dean's RV Superstore in Tulsa,OK to have the leak repaired. They did a "Seal-Tech Pressurized Testing for Leak Detection" and found several locations of water leaks. I delayed posting - waiting for rain...it took several weeks, but we have since experienced several rain events and can safely say that our water problems are repaired. I also have no doubts that if we use the motorhome enough things can loosen again - hopefully years -and we will definately be looking for a Seal-Tech shop the first time we have another water problem. I cannot express how pleased we were with the level of service at Dean's RV Superstore in Tulsa. They let us camp in their lot with power and water while they serviced the rv. We found Dean's RV after doing a google search for "RV WATER LEAK" and found rvleaks.com and since we were in OK we called Deans's and they fit us in immediately - a big plus. Can you tell we are fans of Dean's RV Superstore. By the way, the rates were also very fair.
  • Well, it's the berries! Today we drove to Abilene, Ks. (170 mile roundtrip) to have 4 Season's RV perform the Seal Tech service for us. Set the appointment several weeks ago - no problem...then today we got there, they took our 40' Class A inside and came out and said, "Oh, sorry...we can't do it on YOUR RV because you don't have the right shape roof vents!"
There goes $100 in gas!! We have Fantastic roof vents (with covers over them - which can be easily removed if needed) so don't know what the problem was! I was livid but didn't say anything. Just took the RV and drove off. Also, they had quoted $180 to do 'the test' since we 'didn't buy the RV from them.' Then the service manager said that they haven't really done that many tests with it. No FOOLING!
  • Air conditioner seals surprised us. In a real driving rain, going down the road, we had water leaking in, not long after having everything else sealed. The units had been snugged down but the gaskets had shrunk too much.
  • I had the same thing done at Steve Casey's RV in Wheatridge,CO and they found the leaks by the same system. My front top running lights leaked where the silicone failed. Now I check them all the time and re-silicone them from time to time.
  • Nice to hear of someone doing something right and of a satisfied customer.
