I just bought a used 2002 Winnebago Sightseer motorhome. I cant get the water Pump to draw antifreeze out of the bottle. It isn't the original pump, because I saw installation debris under the bed. I moved the valve from the tank to the pickup hose, and slightly forward from that, I moved the valve for the water heater bypass straight up and down. I blew into the antifreeze pickup hose and it didn't appear clogged.Pump starts, and blew a little water out of the lines in the beginning, but won't draw the pink stuff.What am I doing wrong?

Installation debris could be from the original. However, you pump probably just need to be primed. Exactly how coule be a problem. I have used a funnel into the pickup hose to get the prime. Also, there may be a valve to switch input from the water tank to the pickup hose. I also forgot to turn the valve one time.

Sounds like perhaps the pump is sucking air, or perhaps a vacuum. There are (logically) two valves that need to be changed: one connecting the pump inlet to the tank (which needs to be closed), and one connecting it to the suction hose (which should be opened). While it's certainly possible these could be combined in a single diverter valve, check that you aren't missing a valve you need to open or close.RV water pumps are generally designed to be self-priming, at least with moderate suction lifts.

Look for a valve to select either the water pump antifreeze hose or the fresh water water tank.Kinda like this pictorial refers to...The water pump has to see a valve like this other wise it would be sucking air when being used to pump water out of the fresh water tank.Roy Ken

I always leave water in the FW tank to start the pump pulling pink stuff out of the bottle. When that is done drain the FW pump. It has lost its prime, I think.

I did a low point drain, then blew it out with a portable air compressor. i let the pressure build up to 30 psi and blew each line separately.

Yes. I tried a couple of places. I'm looking at replacing the fittings before the pump.

Do you have a tap open on the discharge end? I had the same problem, then I remembered to open the kitchen faucet. Within seconds pink stuff was flowing.

I agree. I'm going to blow it out through the low point drain. I may find it then. Actually, it is cheaper to blow it out. I've just never done it.

I suspect you have air getting in the suction line somehow—either a leak in the line, or the inlet selector valve, or something like that.

Bought a new pump. Still didn't work. Removed the strainer/filter from the line; still no joy.

I'm at a loss. I may try putting the antifreeze in a paint roller pan so it wouldn't have to pull so hard.

Something is wrong somewhere, because the pump won't shut off. A crack in a downstream line wouldn't prevent it from pulling the antifreeze from the bottle.

I think the pump is weak. It only pumped water out of the tank when it was almost 1/2 full, and never shut off like it did on my Jayco. When I switched the valve over to the Pink Pop bottle, it wouldn't draw.

Is there a good long lasting pump I can put on this thing?

I know this sounds stupid but make sure you have the inlet side of the pump going to the anti freeze bottle.

I removed the cap and turned the valve the correct way and blew into it to make sure it was open. I don't see what purpose the cap serves unless the valve leaks. My Jayco didn't have anything on the end of the pickup hose.
