waxing motorhome

Having trouble with the fiberglass on the rear end of the MH. Used
Nu-Finish as always but the fiberglass on the end has soaked up the
liquid wax and will not wipe completely off. That portion of the
back is totally streaked. Have let it dry sufficiently and have
tried rubbing in small areas with an old towel. Any suggestions
on how I might solve this problem or what I should use will be
greatly appreciated. Bottom of the rear is a decal and all is fine
there.
  • Lets see, a 9 year old 2005 GeorgieBoy Pursuit II LE. Are you the original owner and always used Nu-Finish? Sounds that way, but you didn't say. I'd wash it with Dawn Dish soap and Bar Keepers Friend to remove the old Nu-Finish, and then start over with Areospace 303.

    Nu-Finish should work, that's what I use.
You didn't read the OP's post??? Thats what he is using!
  • I use to have that issue with the side of my Fleetwood Jamboree that had corrugated fiberglass sides. Take a can of Pledge and spray an area to be waxed. Then use the Nu-Finish and wipe off when dry.
  • I couldn't get the link to post here, but google bullet polish. One of the few things that work on gel coat finishes.;)
  • My coach is fiberglass with a metal front end and metal storage compartments! I never use a paste wax or rubbing compounds on fiberglass! I use Nu Finish on the metal parts and Aerospace #303 on the fiberglass and decals!
