We found a great motorhome! It had everything we needed at a price we could afford. We agreed to purchase and the owner drove it to our home and parked it in the driveway. We spent the evening just enjoying our "new to us" motorhome with plans to deliver the check in the morning. Being excited we sat up late and explored every cabinet and gadget. Just before we went to bed, I noticed that there were extra strips of trim down the driver's side of the vehicle. Upon inspection, I realized that someone had tried to stabilize the whole wall with firring (sp?) strips on the inside behind the sofabed attached to extra strips on the outside that ran from the driver's seat to the kitchen area because of water damage--about 15 feet. For me the deal was over. I still feel bad about backing out because he was angry, but I just wish he had pointed that out when he showed us everything else. What do you think?
The owner was obviously "very trusting" and went out of his way to deliver the MH to your driveway without payment or anything in writing for that matter (assuming given your point about you having plans to pay in the morning). Was there any deposit? It's your decision to back-out of the deal but as the owner I would expect to keep any deposit to cover the costs of delivery and pickup.
