There is always two sides to the story. Too bad we can't hear the other . The OP gave his word on a deal and had the owner go out of his way to accommodate him and his agreed deal. Now I don't blame the OP for backing out after seeing the issue, but IMHO he owes something to the owner who accomodated him delivery the MH to his drive to be slept in.
There was a similar post about this recently were another member inquired about asking the owner to allow him to do this very thing. Overwhelmingly everyone answered no. Who knows what the buyer is doing or tearing apart in your MH, this poster proved it. It worked out for him, the owner is out some money and time. Not to mention probably looking to see what else the OP got into while in their possession.
The seller screwed up. That is why they make new MH's so you don't have to deal with this stuff, or have the buyer calling you with tons of questions later or complaining about something not originally disclosed.
Lesson learned, that's why we've always traded ours in.
