Weather Pro 9100 too high???

I recently damaged the lower hardware on my Winnebago Journey 02', previously installed was a 9100 "basement" hardware. The new hardware installed by a local rv dealer was "standard" hardware. The height of the roller tube when extended is now significantly higher from the ground. The awning sticks out almost horizontal, and would not shed any water and i am afraid it would collapse in the rain.

Is the design of the "standard" vs "basement" different in regard to height. Is there any way i can lower the height of the roller tube to the ground without different hardware? When the adjustment knob is secured in the lowest position it is still too high.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
  • The gas struts for 'standard' hardware is 28-3/4"

The gas struts for 'basement' hardware is 24-1/4" (4-1/2" shorter)

Go back to 'dealer' and have them install CORRECT hardware.

Thanks Old Bisqcuit, you answered my question, but I have to eat it because I told them to put "standard hardware" not knowing they were different heights. I can adjust it to be usable. In the future I will consider replacing the gas pistons with the shorter ones.
