I have towed my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that tiped the scales at 4950 with 4 different class C's, a 25, a 28, and 2 33'. None of them had any problems whatsoever. All Ford, V8 for the 25 and V10 for the rest, all 5K towing capacity. Up and down mountains, just make sure you use the Tow/Haul mode that enables transmission braking.
