Let's not call the salesman a liar, let's just say he was trying to sell what he had.....
ANY jack system used on ANY chassis if operated one jack at a time can twist the chassis, even on the largest DPs. Although there are ways to defeat the 2 jack auto operation on all the brands I have seen or used over the years, you don't really have to worry about chassis twist.
As to whether you need them or not really depends on where you camp. good quality camp grounds are usually pretty level.
If you find a coach you like at a price you like, buy it. You can always add levelers later. Big Foot levelers (which I have on current MH) are about $3-3500 installed by the factory on most E-350-450 chassis, I believe.
