The wife and I have a small Class c that works well for us.
If you are looking 31 ft range there are two things to consider.
The rear overhang cause a lot of tail swing on turns, where the shorter ones, like ours are more natural with the wheels nearer the end. That is something you will need to get used to in turning.
The second thing is something my independent trucking center pointed out when he serviced my brakes. All the E450s have the same brake systems on them. Be it a 23ft Motor Home, a Box Truck or a 31 ft Motor Home. So the longer and heaver 31 ft has the same system stopping it as the E450 church van or the 21 ft Motor Home. That concerned him.
It seems that your wife needs to learn about weights and carrying capacity. It is not just physical storage but the weight of the items before you are overloaded.
If I were looking for something in the 31 ft length, I would not look at a B or C Class Motor Home. One of the smaller Class A Motor Homes will legally carry more weight for your stuff and be safer.
Good luck on your decision.
