Western national park trip

I suggest you look into a Thousand Trails Zone pass for the western Zone. We did a similar trip and found the membership paid for itself many times over. When we bought, we got a two zone for one price and included the two zones we were going to spend the most time in. Many of these parks are located within driving distance of the National parks mentioned. The deal is that you get 30 nights free, then you pay $3.00 a night. There are some restrictions about how long you can stay in each park but we were able to work with this with little problem.

Moab Utah is between Arches & Canyonlands, we stayed at Portal RV Resort and Campground last fall. Great place. There are several other campgrounds and also BLM campsites available.

We stayed at Mesa Verde RV Resort (US Hwy 160, Mancos, CO) when visiting Mesa Verde. Good Sam rates it a 10 which maybe stretching it some. Supposed to be the nicest in area.

at Monumnent Valley we stayed at Goulding's Lodge. Reservations strongly suggested.

when touring the valley you'll have two choices...guided and on-your-own. we had a much better time doing it on our own.

Just North of Monument Valley is "Valley of the Gods", Right by Mexican Hat, Utah. It is an unpaved road that your toad can easily navigate and it will also allow you to drive up and down Moki Dugway. There is one RV park(actually a parking lot) in Mexican Hat but there is also a fine steak restaurant right next door called the Swinging Steak. The RV park and small town are nothing special but the sights around the area are fantastic.

Zion - Watchman in the park

Of these, we've been to Ruby's (Bryce), Goulding's (Monument Valley), and Watchman (Zion). Drove through Dead Horse Point State Park - not sure they have sites big enough for a Class A (isn't that what you have?) and I don't think they have 50amp. When we went to Arches/Canyonlands, we stayed at Arches View RV Park in between. Nice place, neat and great views all around. All the pics online for the CG within Mesa Verde show Class A's parked so they must have 50amp. Our fifth wheel runs on 50amp but it works with 30amp easily so not sure if that's the same for Class A'.s Anyway, this is my two cents worth.

In the Seattle area there really isn't much for RV parks. There is one East of Seattle very near the freeway that I looked at several years ago and rejected. We were traveling with two indoor cats, and they had a one pet rule. I don't remember the name of the place.
We wound up across the bay, near Poulsbo. Very nice little RV park, with back-in sites around the perimeter for long term stays. DW had to ride the Bainbridge Ferry to get to work and back, but it worked out quite well! The half-hour nap was welcome. Eagle Nest RV park, or something like that. It is in the Woodalls Directory.
There was an RV park just South of Everett that would have been OK, but they also had a rule I did not like, concerning what I was allowed to have in my RV. None of their business, IMO.

RENEE: Dead Horse Point - Yes, we fit in some of the sites with our 40' Class A.

Also, even though we have 50A we can easily use 30A if necessary. It's been no problem for us.

Mesa Verde - some sites have electric and some are dry camping

Parks listed are mostly south/southeast of the Oregon border...Where does Seattle fit in the itinerary, or will you just be passing through?

If you want hookups at the Mesa Verde campground in the park, make reservations NOW. Although there are more than 250 sites, only 15 have hookups.
