Happy anniversary! May you have many more memories!
I think folks with short class Cs tend to be happier overall with their rigs. A small class C can't be beat for convenience and "space in a limited space". TTs require towing and are not convenient for stops along the way, and class Bs are much tighter in space. And as you point out a short class C can go most anywhere.
Once you get past 26ft, I think there are less negatives about other choices (class A, FW, TT, TH), so folks don't get that sense of "this is perfect".
My old boss has a sprinter, it's a bit narrower but just as tall and long as my class C. Inside the difference is amazing - I have far more room outside of head space.
When my house was burglarized, I was upset at what they had taken. But by far them taking my clipper was the absolute worst. I got it back and have spent the past year and a half getting it back into shape. When I drove it home from getting new tires, I found myself grinning as I drove down the road - it just felt so good to be back behind the wheel. I don't get that feeling with the suv and trailer (although I do enjoy them).
