Had to replace the little knobin the entry stairway that the door piston fastens to. The old one,2 months,broke in the windstorm in Death Valley in Nov and the one before that lasted a month. Bought another 2 pak,$3.57,and hope that they last a bit longer.
While I was doing that,I noticed that there was moisture under the bottom rubber step and when I lifted it up,found that the wood was all coming apart and the carpet around the bottom was starting to rot.Sooo,it looks as if I'll be putting laminate in the stepwell and replacing the door seals as there was water runnning down the door frame.I wanted to do that anyway,but the DW thinks the carpet looked better,so now I get to do it.
The carpet on the step cover slide looks ok,so I think that I'll leave that alone.
