Replaced all the inside halogen bulbs with LED's. Also replaced the outside porch and security lights with LED bulbs and installed new lenses. No more hot lamps or melted plastic covers for me.

Where did you get the bulbs from?
I got the halogen replacements from ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140581238723
and the outside lights from Camping World:

If you do replace them be aware that LED's are polarity sensitive. I had to do some small wiring changes to some of the sockets on the interior halogen bulbs.

do you need a different socket also or a entire new lamp housing?
looked at the bulbs and they seem to have 2 prongs sticking out that plug into something.
Same sockets and fixtures. The halogen bulbs I replaced were installed in hockey puck like fixtures that are mounted in the ceiling, the cabinets and above the countertop. The bulbs were configured the same way with two leads that plug into a ceramic block. I did remove the metal reflector because the LED's are larger that the old halogen bulb. The light intensity is about the same, but they operate much cooler.

DON'T THINK THEY WOU;D WORK ON OUR FIXTURES, we have the type where the blub just pushes in and twist it to lock it in. kind of like brake lights in a car.
