Last December on the way back from Georgia, the Drivers side wiper went off. Both wipers store in the center just fine, but the Drivers side wiper went way past the point at which it should stop. Was going to take it in for service, but decided to take one more look. There is a plate that the wiper pivot attaches to. The pivot is fastened with two studs, these were both broken off. So, got the wiper arm off, removed the outer trim, then removed the bracket. Had to grind off the heads of the studs, popped the remaining butts of the studs out, got a couple pan head bolts and put it all back together. My cost, $3.61 vs $125 an hour plus a 3 hour round trip twice as I am pretty sure I'd not have brought the rig home on the same day. Wipers now back to normal.
Excellent job! In reading the fixes you guys are doing it is definitely inspiring me to grab a wrench next time something goes wrong. (At least try to figure out if I can fix it before taking it in for the high priced fix!) Thanks for posting all!
