2000 f53 southwind 103,000 miles, my VSS on the rearend quit working. pulled it out, cleaned the metal off the magnet and it worked, changed the 75w140 oil in the rearend, took 4 gallons to fill it. when the VSS quit working, the speedometer quit, the tow light started flashing and the motor wouldn't rev above 2100 rpm, (about 55 mph) had to reset the codes. I bought a new VSS, it only takes a 1/2" wrench to change and is on top of the rearend, one bolt and 20 bucks for a Dorman brand. Now I have a spare. The rearend sounds fine. Broke both 48" windshields leveling it wrong and popped the lower corners out, Unlevel spot using only one right rear jack torqued the frame and cap and the windshields cracked in both front outside corners. Having both replaced in the near future, 855.00 each installed. A friend deal. Expensive learning event.
