What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Changed my TV's to HD Flat screens.

Last week I noticed my chassis batteries were not charging when plugged in to shore power. I grabbed the meter and sure enough, the Xantrex Echo-Charge was not charging the chassis batteries.

I had my electronic guy take a look at it as he had repaired it almost seven years ago when we purchased the coach and the unit was not working. This time he said the little microprocessor had gone bad and it was proprietary so there was nothing he could do.

I ordered a new one last week and it showed up yesterday. After fueling up the coach and starting the refrigerator I changed out the Echo-Charge module and everything is good again.

I also took a few minutes and tightened up a few screws in my pocket doors. When we were driving home last weekend I noticed that they were rattling a bit. I tightened the screw, sprayed a little lube in the locking mechanism and they are golden again.

I also ordered all of my filters/fluids yesterday so I can get them changed out some time in the next week or so. Unfortunately it is that time of year when we are ready to put the old girl to bed for a few months. I hate it when our season has to come to an end. Oh well, maybe one day when we are retired we can simply head south for those few months.:)

These things took three days so technically not applicable here. Been having problems with batteries taking and keeping a charge, looked at them and decided that I was at the beginning of a problem from dropping some acid while checking specific gravity. Took all the cables off, cleaned all parts of the batteries including the frames that hold them. Washed down with a baking soda and water paste, some places several times. Burnished all the cable ends, scrapped and wire brushed the ground cable connection hole in the frame, coated everything with a light coating of dialectric grease and reconnected everything. There had been six crimp on type cable terminals on the positive side of the second u2200 battery. Two heavy battery cable connectors and four misc. connectors. I wanted to clean up that mess for a couple of years and had purchased and installed two 35 amp buss bars(one for the positive side of batteries and one on the frame for ground) and a six fuse panel. I ran one #6 wire from the battery to the positive buss(I had some left over from another project on the S&B) and rerouted the four 16 to 10 guage wires from the battery to the buss bar and rewired a charging station for cells phones, iPods and the like from piggybach on a 35amp circuit breaker to it's own fuse. What a difference in battery performance in my two six volt Interstate house batteries.

I also cleaned and scrubbed the front cap with Barr Keepers Friend and reapplied RNP to the front. Looks great again, now we're almost ready for the beach in November and where ever in Jan and Feb.

Small recover job on the dinette and I'm done untill late spring.

Just finished this morning making some of these homemade RV leveling blocks. So simple that I dont know why I didnt think of it. I am so tired of bending down to retreive the old ones, this should be a much better deal.

I've been tossing the idea of an opional heater around for a while as well...

Last winter we stayed in mid-central Florida for our maiden voyage and the temps droped overnight to 38 degreese... we had our trusty fan driven plug-in heater on stand-by but I wanted to make sure the LP heater worked... Boy, did it ever!!! But, at a cost...

After midnight and set at 68... It kicked on with a roar from the gas ignition and then the fan would rattle and hum until the heat exchanger cooled down... for 10 hours I let the house heater cycle automatically... And, I went through a 1/4 tank of gas...!!!

Next night... the plug-in... On, Off, On, Off, Drove me nuts! (I need quiet...)

I found these options this last summer and settled on the glass radient wall heater... for only $99.00 per unit...


It's a Qmark / Marley FDI1500 Electric Drop In Floor Heater - 120 VAC - 1500 Watts... But at $185.00 it is a bit pricy and it said nothing about "sones" (the noise it makes...)

Then I found...

It's a Aura DGFP15120B 1500 Watt Glass Radiant Heater with Digital Temperature Control... it's adjustable from 750 watts to 1500... It plugs in and is wall mountable... (can't put it on the ceiling because of the tip protection...)
But for $99.00 (plus shipping...) it's a great deal and QUIET!!!

I got two from Air and Water Portable Appliances out of California...

cleaned the inside, made the bed, carried items to load, made some changes to the outside compartments and where stuff was located. Getting ready to leave in a couple weeks for the winter will be traveling until June. It seems to always take so much time to get everything ready to leave. Tomorrow going to load clothes and the rest of the food. Turned onthe fridge today will load the freezer in a few days.

Will be ready to pull out in a few days just in case the weather turns really ugly and we need to get out of Dodge.

Tomoxy...any kind of small ceramic heater will work perfectly fine for you as long as you have full hookups. I'm thinking the one at cosco will be way to powerfull and HOT. Happy Camping kathie

This morning took it into the First Response Glass to have a bit of moulding (between the windshields) re-fastened--it was peeling out from the top. A bit of new foam tape, some sealant and good to go--no charge. They had replaced the windshield several years ago.

Now, going up to the rig to re-install the now finished shelf for the new flat screen TV to stand on.

Picking up from DeMartini RV in Grass Valley. In for trans cooler leak and routine maintenance.

I'm planning to go camping in November ... it will be very cool.
I don't wish to use my propane to heat as last time it kept clicking on and off so I would be comfortable ...then cold...
Is there any space or type of electric heater that people find works best... ?
I have been debating the one at Costco a fan type style that blasts heat
on the way in...
