We took our old 1984 MH out on a much needed RV Ski day and evening to our little old local ski area, Welch Village in Welch, MN. Great weather and and a great family day with all 6 of us and our 10-month old pup. Summit did great and proved his ability to stay close and make friends :-)
I feel blessed that the kids can still have fun with us! :-) I love to ski and these RV ski days are the best!!! Love to see these smiles!!!

pauperspride.blogspot.com - toomoxyExplorerMy RV Battery keeps dying. I obviously have a drain on power somewhere even though
I turn off both "kill switches"…
If my truck battery is dead I can't start my generator, as is somehow tied
into the RV batteries… I'm not sure if I can get a mechanic to change that (?)
I ended up hooking up to a Battery Tender/Charger and seems to be fine now,
Even though the indicator light for the "truck" will not light up.
I ended up taking the circuit board out to see if I could get a new bulb (yeah no bulbs…LOL)
vacuumed out all the debris in behind there, put it back in place and now
the indicator light is lighting up… weird.
So yes… bought and am using a Battery Tender with good results…
- NaViDaExplorerI showed off my new, to me, 1988 Holiday Rambler Endeavor to friends im meeting along the way as i cross Costa Rica alone for 18 days. Cant wait to get her home and to really get my hands on her!
- MartyAndPegExplorerJust a rest to see if cut/paste works.
This is always a fun thread to watch, so I thought I would start one here. - jsmartExplorerThe dealer finally replaced the graphics on all four sides of our new (to us) 2002 Itasca Sunrise 32V. She looks almost brand new, thinking of going down to trade her in for a newer, longer coach. (Wife just punched me in the arm, she loves the floor plan). Used to have boats, got 2 footitis with them too. Well, happy camping and see you all on the road.
- NaViDaExplorerPurchased (Xmas present) my 1st Land Yacht, 1998 Class A Holiday Rambler Endeavor today from Camping World to start Fulltime on the road!:B And became an Elite Good Sam member at the same time:C Had no idea that came with purchase too:@
yay! - Canadian_RainbiExplorerNice! The runners for my sock etc drawers by the bed are falling off and i would love to replace them with something like this but since they are less than a foot wide and that is about all the room there is between the bed and the wall I need a 6 year old carpenter with very long arms. Or at least one about that size.
- Gadget_ManExplorerI’ve never been very happy with the OE drawer slides in my coach. I really like the soft-closing slides being installed in new homes, so I decided it was time to upgrade my RV’s drawers.
Below is a photo of one of the areas where I plan to upgrade my drawer slides. This is in the bedroom, right above the water heater. This area is occupied by a washer/dryer on models ordered with that option. If you happen to notice that the water supply hose to the water heater us missing in this photo, you’re very observant. I removed it while the drawers were out, as I’ve been meaning to replace the cheap vinyl supply hose with a steel braided hose. If you look at the top center of each drawer opening, you’ll see the OE brass catches that prevent the drawers from opening while in transit. I plan on retaining these, even though I’m not sure they’ll still be needed.
This photo shows the OE 1x2 wooden supports for the OE drawer slides. Not only are they weak and flimsy, the replacement slides are longer with screw holes that are spaced further apart. This forced me to beef up the supports.
This photo shows the additional 1x2 support added. It is the pale piece of wood shown butted up against the existing support. This is where the help of my son came in handy, as he is much better at woodworking than me and he is much more nimble at getting into tight spaces! This photo only shows the left side, but rest assured we added wood to both sides.
I really liked the feel of the CenterLine Comfort Close Slides. They were $20 per pair. They are 75 lb slides which should be more than enough. They have a smooth self-closing design and require an extra tug to open, which may or may not eliminate the need for travel catches. But as I said earlier, I’m going to retain them to be on the safe side.
My son & I only installed one set of slides, to make sure they are exactly what I want. I really like them, so I will be buying a set for every drawer I have, with the exception of a couple of very small drawers. My son is also going to reinforce the bottoms of my largest drawers, as they flex to easily, which could result in them caving in. Thank God for good sons who love doing this sort of thing!
