- dayaksterExplorerIt's been so cold and miserable here in WI since I brought our new 1997 Allegro Bus home that I haven't been able to vacuum him up and polish the wood floors until today. I shined the floors up pretty and laid out some new wool rugs and runners.
We had some really heavy rain lately and I inspected for leaks and so far so good. You really can't tell for sure when it's so cold and snowy if something is leaking or not because it dries right out but we had a good rain for a few days. - Scott___JillExplorer96 Fleetwood Southwind Storm Had some over heating problems drained and flushed radiator replaced thermostat and radiator cap running nice and cool now.getting ready for a trip now i'll get back to the generator problem and see if I can get it to start.

Replaced the drivers side headlamp assembly (comes from a '95-'97 Ford Windstar). Found the retainer clips for the headlight assembly in our local NAPA dealer. Lubed the chassis, had the oil changed by our local Ford dealer for $29.99 plus 1 extra quart of oil. Changed the air filter ($16.00 from local NAPA store). Had new tires put on last month, Toyo's from Les Schwab ($2700.00/6 tires, mounted, balanced, new valve stems). Removed the top rubber strip from the passengers side windshield, caulked a small leak, replaced the strip (not too difficult). Ready for our first long trip of the year. Can save some $$ by doing most of this myself. Sold my motorcycle (which used to keep my gear head happy, but this motorhome is keeping me busy).
- purplekeenahExplorerHad a set of sunscreens made for the windshield, driver side window, passenger door and side window. Actually had them made last Sunday enroute to our southern destinations. Put them on yesterday, WHAT A DIFFERENCE in keeping the rig cool!
- UseroverdriveExplorerGetting quotes for 6 new tires
- JimFromJerseyExplorerInstalled a new universal fit vent & fan to replace the OEM Fan-Tastic that suffered a broken arm last fall. Scraped 25 years worth of putty, caulk, silicon, and gawdknowswhatelse off from around the vent cover and fan up on the roof, cleaned it all up nice, put down new putty and new silicone caulk. Works like a charm but I had to trim about 2 inches off the little valence that fits in from the inside, as my Bounder roof isn't 4 inches thick...
Installed two new awning/porch lights on sides of the Beast.
Got a 4" 1/4 x 20 cap screw to replace the 3.5" one that holds the Onan air filter on. Now looking for a 1/2" thick washer.. :) At the hardware store, they had 3" and 4" and I was almost positive that the parts list had it at 3 1/2 inches. I was right.... Damn Onan and every other mfg that uses odd frickin' lengths. - RayChezExplorer

And that is why I am a big supporter of changing the tires every five years. Some think ten years is a good time to change. Not saying you were on the five year and over category, but for those that do not believe on changing tires that often. I suggest reading your post and the damage that a blowout does. It is not worth keeping tires until they blowup. Too much damage! - bigred1cavExplorerPicked it up from shop. BLOW OUT DAMAGE REPAIR.
