- sundancer268ExplorerRemoved the Reefer roof vent and added 4 quarts of 15 to the engine. another 4 quarts tomorrow and so on until the change is completed. Still need to change the oil filter. I found the Chassis Battery dead today. I do not understand what happened. It was fully charged two weekends ago and all I did was start the coach and move it two feet so I could work on the rear area while in the barn. I will now have to start trouble shooting the battery problem. I also found several wire harnesses in the top of the reefer vent cavity I will try to trace down.
- BUCKEYE707ExplorerInstalled a smoke/fire alarm in the bedroom. From the factory the only smoke/fire alarm was just behind the drivers seat.
Just a little added protection. - BigdogExplorerTook it to the dealer for an estimate on the damage caused by the fire we had that was caused by the flex pipe tailpipe burning thru several weeks ago. We had to be towed 50 miles after it happened to a shop in Grants Pass Ore to have some interim work done. They replaced the flex pipe and the wiring for the right tailite,as well as the tailite that kinda melted and we went on our merry way to San Diego after three days in their driveway. Now they are looking at the heat damage to the right rear corner, the insulation that actually caught on fire and the rear wiring harness that kinda melted, but the wires held ok. They may have to remove the endcap to assess the whole amount of damage. They are also going to have to reseat the front W/S's from the MH moving on the towtruck after it was lifted. There were several nasty 6% grades on the way to G.P..
Also had to replace the front A/C shroud because when they replaced the roof, they only replaced the screws on one side of the shroud and it's laying somewhere along I-5. I also had to replace a faulty VDU in San Diego.
Really a fun trip. - sundancer268ExplorerOrdered the MaxxAir Fan and will return the Fan-Tastic tomorrow morning. Also found out the Mr. Heater LP Low Pressure Gas fittings will not fit my Hanson Part number 100-006 3/8NPT Fittings. That sucks. Now I have to see if I can find the Hanson fittings to expand my system. I hate Proprietary Crap.
- John_JoeyExplorerDrove it 300 miles and backed it up to a pond. Set out a couple of chairs an had a cocktail with the wife.
- sundancer268ExplorerReceived the new Fan-Tastic Fan today, I am disappointed. I ordered the top of the line with remote control and find I still have to reach up and reverse the fan manually. When I want a remote function I expect all functions to be useable from the remote. I will send it back and order the Maxxair 00-04500K with a fully functional remote. I was considering ordering the remote upgrade kit for my original Fan-Tastic fan but I now see it is not worth it. I guess I should have checked it out better.
- Canadian_RainbiExplorerTook delivery of the Velvac Mirror parts to repair the one taken of by that Puerto Vallarta Bus. Now just waiting for a no rain day to put it back together and replace the make do one:
- Joe___SharonExplorerWe have a 1998 Gulfstream Tourmaster that came new from the factory with a Concord TV antenna, it has been acting up, and finally quit receiving any stations. Today I switched it out with a Wineguard MA1000W electric with the Wineguard Sensarpro Sensar Meter, and WOW what a difference, should have done it years ago.
- JohnnyTExplorer IITook the coach to the Spartan factory... For a 100,000 miles check up...
JohnnyT - RayChezExplorerI got my black cat sprayer and washed the engine and CAC with Simple Green first and water after I done that, I crawled into the engine box under the bed and lubricated the fan pulley bearing. I gave it three good squirts of bearing grease. Had been reading a lot about failures because of lack of lubrication by Caterpillar engine owners.
Then I started her up and let her run awhile. Getting her ready for our next trip May 4th.-28th.
