What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Loaded our new 2012 Allegro Red 34QFA started to figure out where to put what.
Arrived home yesterday with it, picked up Tuesday in Huntsville, AL
spent next day at Red Bay getting ceiling fan installed in B/R and new
bigger better water pump put on.
2000 miles home towing Ford Escape and averaged 8.7 mpg.
Tires were Over inflated, lowered to 95PSI and boy it ride SO much better. Other than that, cleaned the windshield a lot on the trip home.

Took 2 days but gave her a bath, dewinterized, exercised Genny, checked ALL fluid levels, checked all systems, checked tire pressures and my better half gave the interior a once over to her liking

Let the games begin

Exercised the generator, AC's, fridge and radio.

Well not today but Friday . . . bought one :B

Wife and I upgraded from a 23' 1984 Class C Jamboree to a 2000 Allegro M28 wide body which will suit our needs for many years, at least till we retire and then we might be ready for our next upgrade!

Our "new" rig has way more space than our ole 84 model!!! Sure we will fill it up though. Lots of little things to make it "our own" and get it back in shape.

We mostly go to State Parks so the size is perfect. Probably get it setup for towing so we can maybe head out west next year for some National Parks. Maybe head down to Disney in the future, wife has always wanted to do that.

Now the fun begins of moving everything over from the old rig to the new one . . .

Replaced the canopy on the slide-out, had to have it custom made...very expensive.

Y'all may notice that the plate is not present in the last photo. It has been moved temporarily to the side and will be permanently remounted with a relocated plate light before the next trip.

I thought about the added brake light, but that would interfere with the extension for the hoist and the bike rack that will be added.

I stuck on $5600 of Michelin XRVs...it really hurt to part with the aged out tires...almost 7 yrs old.....no sidewall cracks and plenty of tread left...but............it's a feelgood thing...and tires start dying the day they are born ....just like us!!!

Now you just have move your rear plate so it's not hidden

Winnebago provides a spare on this coach but they put it in a compartment that is about head high and on the drivers side of the rig. Gravity gets the tire out, but it takes two strong people to get the tire back into the compartment. So having had a need one time to change a tire, blowout last year and no tools meant a 3 hour delay waiting for road service, I said NEVER AGAIN.

So with a bit of surplus 2" x 2" x 1/4" tube and a bit of welding and my spare is now rear mounted. I have a removable 30" extension to facilitate installing a rope fall to handle the tire. I have a 42" breaker bar and sockets to change the tire.

All that remains now is to order a tire cover.

As a side benefit I now have a really nice compartment for hoses, filters and cables.

You are going to get a ticket because the license plate can not be seen from the rear if a highway patrol is following you. The tire covers the license plate. Unless you moved the plate!

Now you should put a 3rd brake light at the top off the bar over the tire.But it looks real good, good job
