What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Bought it a new Tow'd - 2011 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon! It has pink in the water system, "just in case" - we roll south in a month!

Pulled the techma silent flush toilet, had stopped working. Took the pump apart and found a cleaning ragthat had the pump stuck, cleaned it out and all is well for now!! Don't know how the rag got there...

Got ours ordered for for April delivery. 2013 Monaco Diplomat 43dft:)

Man, still waxing the MH--only have 3/4 of a side to do tomorrow then Ill be done--a lot of work to do it by hand, but the results are worth it. Vince

Modified bumper on toad, added a metal bracket to let me put a magnetic wand on as a guide to line up the toad to the hitch connection. Miss those metal bumpers on cars and trucks of bygone days.

Yesterday afternoon (after it warmed up) drained the fresh water tank and water lines. Turned the valve to isolate the hot water heater and then drained it (had to fashion a device from a plastic water bottle) into a bucket. Proceeded to put 1.5 gallons of RV antifreeze through the lines via a kit using the pump. Put the rest of one gallon into the drains. Oh, didn't forget to run the antifreeze through the toilet sprayer like I did one year.

DW cleaned out the freezables like pop and canned goods. Cleaned it up and now the motor home will slumber until next late April. When we came back from our last campout in September washed the motor home so I can do some waxing next spring.

Paid the shop to:

Remove the old and worn out Kwikee battery trays and replace with new ones,

Install 4 new 240AH "golf cart" deep cycle batteries in place of the 4 group 24 that were there before, an increase from roughly 320 AH to 480. The old ones were pretty bad and would barely run the furnace for one night.

Replace a generator tail pipe hanger that had come off. The shop couldn't tell where it was originally attached to the rig!

Adjusted as well as could be the aging wiper arm assemblies. Might need to replace soon, don't like the wind at all!

Looked at the damage to the Oasis awning (caused by Yours Truly who forgot to retract it and drove off!:E ) Minor damage except to the fabric which was getting worn out anyway :B Just waiting now to see how long it will take to get a replacement and if we want to wait. We are in Albany enroute to Mexico and the weather here is not quite to our preferences!

Ah well, more "Blog fodder".

What is available on VC Is for motor home use?

Not sure I understand the question. VC Is ? Did you mean Vancouver Island? Tons of things to do and places to go. It's a pretty big Island--as long as England! You could do Victoria to Port Hardy in a very long day, but why? Unless you just like driving :B

What does that ferry ride cost? My guess is 300?

If I remember correctly it was $132.00 + taxes (12%) for the motorhome (32' but they charged me for 31!) plus I think $66 for the jeep which my wife drove on separately. They charge over length and over height by total length so it's cheaper to go on not hooked up. Also easier as this ferry has a bow door and a side door so shorter is better!
