A few days ago, I removed the broken spigot used to drain the fresh water tank and installed an extension (MPI-PEX fitting, a couple of elbows and a 1/4 turn mini ball valve and some left over 1/2 in PEX from home renovations) to bring the new drain valve close to the back bumper. The new piping is clamped to an existing aluminium angle used to support the storage compartment. It still drains slowly as before but I don't have to crawl under the van to reach the spigot.
I then de-winterized, sanitized the fresh water tank, checked all systems (hot and cold water, stove, heater, fridge, detectors, electrical, tires, wipers). I took it for a spin and it is now ready to load with gear and food.
